Arrival in Australia

This blog is long overdue. Starting back from when we first arrived in Australia from the U.S.

We were happy to have finally made it to Sydney after a tornado in Nashville threw off all of our travel plans. We had to make an emergency landing at a small cargo airport in a different state and then go through a two hour process of refueling. We missed our international flight and had to book completely new tickets. Once we got our delayed flight into L.A. we found a place to stay overnight and had some time to check out the beaches in L.A. during the day before heading back to the airport for an evening overnight direct flight with Qantas.

Couldn't resist Heather :)

We arrived in Sydney the following morning and decided to head into the city because we had 8+ hours before our next flight. We'd both been to Sydney before but never together, it was great to walk around and stretch our legs, see the opera house, and surrounds.

And then it was back to the airport for our final flight Sydney to Adelaide.
My excitement and James just wanting this extended journey to end.

We jumped on a Qantas flight and less than 2 hours later...
Moving to Adelaide mission complete.

We left on a Wednesday and arrived Saturday night. There was about 14 hours of time zones in there but still took us over two days to make it. All my luggage (2 large suitcases, a backpack, and a carry-on suitcase) and James' one suitcase. James' sister, Amy, and husband, Tim picked us up at the airport and we settled into their lovely character home near the city for the next almost three months.
